My 66 has 13 year old red laquer. The paint is deep and glossy but has quite a few imperfections that would come out with wet sanding. Will this rock hard paint buff out after sanding with 2000 or should I go to an even finer grit? I'd hate to sand this puppy and the paint not come back up. I have also seen Barry Meguiar claim that his sand paper is more consistent than others. Is there any truth to that claim vs good ole 3M (methinks not)?
Sand and buff should be no problem. If you want to check, find a small out of the way place to test on. I've done them 20 years old with great results.
