Members,
I have a question regarding judging standards and point deductions.
When the TIM & JG specifies that a part is to be plated (cadmium or zinc) and the owner does not replate the original part (it appears natural and is treated with a rust preventative), what is the point deduction compared to if the original part is painted to prevent rusting?
What I'm seaching for here is which is the lesser sin? To leave it natural or paint it?
This question is the result of the can of worms that was opened when we raised the issue of hydrogen embrittlement caused by electroplating.
Thanks gents,
Gene
