    C2 POWER STEERING CONTROL VALVE

The '67 judging guide indicates the steering linkage was painted black as a unit. On power steering cars is the control valve painted black, including the grease seal and retainer? Also, the rebuilt unit I received has a small metal"guard" attached with the two bolts that hold the body together. Was this original equipment in '67?

Everything was painted, but rather rather "sloppily" and there were many "holidays". The seal and retainer got painted, more-or-less, but the ball stud was protected by a cardboard tube.

The hose guide bracket on your valve was not used on 1967s. It first appeared about 1974.
