1968 C3 front carpet dimmer pad

I'm told later 68 cars had a rubber pad over the area of the dimmer switch. If true, what VIN is the changeover ?

My original owner 68 built in FEB 68 original carpet did not have the pad over the dimmer switch. My original owner 70 with its original carpeting still in use does not have the pad either.

No 1968 Corvette carpet included a dimmer pad. Late 1969 Corvettes generally did have a dimmer pad. My original owner, mid-September 1969 has a dimmer pad.

Whenever one is discussing carpet features, in addition to the model year and serial number, one must also talk about the carpet color. Less common colors retained earlier features longer due to low turn-over.
