    '64 Alternator

Purchased the proper alternator for my '64 (part # and date code per judging manual). Works fine but the connectors on the back are rotated 180 degrees. Can I and unscrew the halves and just rotate the back or do I somehow have the wrong alternator? Thanks. David #33277

    Re: '64 Alternator

By removing the four bolts holding the back half to the front you will be able to rotate the back half 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Be careful to not pull the two halves apart too far or you will have to reset the brushes before remounting the back. Not a tough job too reset the brushes. A long pin (thin nail) will hold the brushes in the holder until the two halves are together, then just slide the pin out of the back.
