    F.I. Cranking Signal Valve

I am having a tough time on cold starts with my 63 Fuelie.

I have fuel, nozzles and pump work.

I am told by a group "F.I. knowledgeable people" that it is almost certainly a bad CSV.

I have had this car a year, and problem just started. Starts fine hot.
The problem is I don't think the unit even has a CSV on it. I am assuming this is a separate piece that fits into the enrichment diaphram ? All I have on the diaphram is a small opening at the bottom.

    If I don't have one:

    1. How is it possible to generate enough vacuum to start without ?
    2. Do I need just the CSV, or also another fuel line ?

    Any help appreciated

If you have an original 1963 FI unit, I think that you should have the cranking signal valve. As I recall, it mounts on the forward upper right side of the plenum box. It is a "mushroom-shaped" device.

Howdy Ron, There are several people on this board that speak "fuel injection", but more info is needed before we can get to the cause of your problem. What is the part number stamped on the tag at the left front of your unit? The description you give of your fuel meter doesn't sound like the one used in '63. The CSV should be in the middle of the enrichment dia. cover, plumbed into a "T" on top of the main fuel control dia. Is your choke complete and working? Bill

Do you have a digital camera?

If so, e-mail some pictures to me at my top secret e-mail address, jerrybramlett@comcast.net, and I will try to help.
