    C2 327/340 HP Carter 3461

I removed the carb from the intake manifold and found one carb/manifold base gasket which only had 4 ea throttle plate cutouts(but no cutout for the "C" shaped channel on the carb base underside). A couple questions: 1. Is the cutout pattern correct and 2. Should there also be a spacer/baffle sandwiched there too, and if so what should the cutout pattern look like? Tnx Les

    Les-----

You have the correct configuration for a 1963 340 hp. The gasket for the 340 hp had no slot cut for the manifold heat groove, since no heat groove was used with the 340 hp manifold. So, the correct gasket only has the 4 throttle bores and, of course, the 4 holes for the carb retaining studs. No heat baffle was used with this application.

The Carter 3461 was also used with 300 hp applications for 1963. For that application a cast iron manifold with a carb heat groove was used. So, for that application of the 3461, a gasket with a groove below a stainless steel heat baffle was used.
