    Transistor Ignition Amplifier Modules

5 years ago I purchased a state-of-the-art replacement module for the original Delco circuit board (with mid-60's electronic components) from M & H Electric of Santa Fe Springs Calif., and am now just preparing to trying it out.

Would appreciate any feedback from those of you that have installed one, especially with respect to their following claims: 1. up to 10% higher spark voltage, compared to stock circuit board, using a T.I. coil; and satisfactory performance with point-type coils. 2. Output protection of unit against failure caused by broken or disconnected spark plug wires. TIA

I have no personal experience with this retro-fit contemporary TI amp module. However, I've spoken with many folks that have. ALL report favorably and cite exactly the attributes that you mentioned. If I were using a TI system, it's the ONLY way I would go. Originality is great and I'm a BIG advocate of it. But, RELIABILITY is PARAMOUNT, especially for a driven car. Otherwise, one's highly original car might become "highly un-original" at the hands of the "locals" who happen to inhabit the "boon docks" town where it breaks down.
