I found quite a few recommendations fot Arthur Gould regarding water pump rebuilding. Is there something special about these older pumps that would require a particular rebuilder, as opposed to a shop that does it locally. (I'm in California, and it would be nice, for a change, not to have to send work across the country).

Rob - nothing special at all....but make sure you tell them to use your original screws on the back, a correct cork gasket, etc. Not sure if it is safe to use the original pulley mount flange or not, but most rebuilders use the dual pattern unit with 8 holes since one part fits all. I expect Art would use the correct midyear hole circle pattern....just guessing...Craig- Top
