I have a key chain that I hope was the key chain given with the car when purchase new. It is oval about 1 1/2 inches long and possibly made of brass. It has a Chevrolet symbol on one side and on the oposite it says "Deposit in any main box, 200 W 2nd St., PO box 5001, Royal Oak, MI 48068-5001, 0033047, return postage guaranteed." Has anybody ever seen something like this. My car is a 68 corvette and what was left of the original key was on it. Regards, Terry

Re: Chevrolet key chain, original or not?
Dave and Terry-----
No doubt, at all, regarding the fact that 9 digit ZIP codes did not exist in 1968. They didn't come along until a LOT later---like, maybe, the mid or late 80's.
Beyond that, as far as I know, no such objects were presented to Corvette purchasers in 1968, either at the time of purchase or thereafter through the mail. A dealer might have given such a thing, but not GM.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Chevrolet key chain, original or not?
Terry,
I agree with Mike. I received one identical to the one you described (only with a different number inscribed on it - 3603171) after I had already bought a new '92 S-10 pickup. I received it in the mail. Don't remember who sent it to me. Maybe Chevrolet or maybe someone who wanted to sell me the extended warranty!

Re: Chevrolet key chain, original or not?
That's pretty funny about the s-10 pickup. I thought that I might have something special. It would have been nice if something from its origins had survived. Thanks for the responce, I think I have enough information on my key chain now. Terry- Top
