While under the dash of my 1964 coupe, I noticed that a small metal box "connector" with 2 red wires attached was "free hanging". The connector appears to be some type of breaker or relay about 1.5 inches long with 2 threaded studs at each end to which the red wires are attached with nuts. After consulting a wiring diagram, I believe this is part of the headlight bucket wiring. My question is if this "connector" is factory and if so, where should it be anchored? Hanging loose may be an option for underwear but does not seem safe for underdash.

Agree with Mike. This gets clipped to a black phosphate clip on the left kick panel. The device is an overload protector for the headlight MOTORS, and is zinc/cad plated. The clip should be above and aft of the vent grille.

Mike--Thanks for the laugh! Reminds me of the old joke where a guy in a locker room notices in shock that his buddy is wearing ladies underwear. He asks his buddy if he has a problem and the buddy tells him, heck no, my wife found these under the front seat of my car and I had to think fast.- Top
