Last week I posted a question on whether it was possible that what appeared to be a mounting for a courtesy light in my trunk could have been factory installed. The bracket sure looked factory and it turns out it was.
But it's not a courtesy light. It's the mounting for one of the safety switches for the power soft top. Except for some holes and wiring clips, it's the only remaining part of the power top that was on the car when I got it.
It all makes sense, because this car also came with Powerglide, power windows, window washer and was Silver-Blue, a color I believe someone who wanted luxury items on a Corvette would have gone for.
I don't plan on putting a hydraulic top lift back in, but the mystery and investigation was sure fun!
