re calipers pete lindahl david to add to the information joe provided i reviewed the information i recorded from the brake calipers standard brakes on my ' s n prior to sending them out to be sleeved the each caliper assembly had a set of numbers stamped one of the top machined surfaces of the caliper housing that the brake lines and bleeder valves are plumbed into i expect these are the julian date of the assembly of the caliper assemblies i have seen other brake calipers for newer corvettes that have numbers stamped on the machine surface the number sequence appears to be year designation last number of the year followed by the digit julian date so because you asked here's the information front calipers rf lf brake hose bleeder hsg casting casting date build assembly date mate hsg casting casting date rear calipers rr lr brake hose bleeder hsg casting casting date build assembly date mate hsg casting casting date the car was build sometime during the third week in sept so if my math is correct the corresponding julian date would be plus or minus my only caveat regarding this information is i haven't owner the car since dirt but i have owned it for plus years and the best i can tell is that the previous owners didn't change things unless they failed the brake system failed in and that's when the above caliper assemblies and the master cylinder were sent to be sleeved hope this information help if you need more details let me know pete
