    67 brake lines

I just got a new set of steel brake lines for my 67 and noticed that the fittings that attatch to the master cylinder are color coded. Orange for the front and blue for the rear. Is this correct? I know 69's were color coded but the 67 JM makes no mention of color coding.

I was concerned about this too. I found no supplier that didn't color code these lines, and they all insisted that they were originally done that way to assure proper connection during assembly.

The original coating on the fittings was done with a dye process, and it wasn't very durable (was only added as an assembly aid); didn't take long to wear off.

Yes, and it can be rather easily removed from current-day reproductions if one so chooses. However, I think that the originals used for 1967 were dyed. It's just as you say-----the dye "went away" long before folks got interested in restoration of these cars, so folks assumed that it was never there.

Thanks guys for the responses. Does ayone have any Judging experiences on this? I'm wondering if this will cost me points.
