    57 deck lid lock

Details details....Is there supposed to be a small overhanging lip just above the deck lid lock escutcheon on the '57? It is difficult to see this detail in the book and restored examples seem to have been sanded off (if they ever existed). Does anyone have a nice original that can confirm the existance of the lip? Thanx...Terry

    Terry,

My 57 has the "eyebrow" above the trunk lock. This is not a prominent feature, but it definitely exists.

All 57's had the molded-in "eyebrow" above the lock cylinder, which is frequently MIA due to over-enthusiastic sanding by previous painters.
