    62 Igniton switch removal

    Lee Morse #37942. I am trying to change the chrome nut assembly on my igntion switch but I can't get the nut over the key assembly. Can someone please help?

    You have to remove the key assembly. There is a s,all hole in the bezel where the switch goes in, with the ign in lock, and the key in the ign, press a paper clip thru the hole and rotate the bezel counter-clockwise. It will pop right out and you will be able to remove the nut with no problem.

      To add to Bill's directions, the key will have to be in approximately the "off" position when you insert the paperclip and then turned toward the lock position. May require some jiggling, but once you depress the plunger the lock will turn slightly past the lock position and pop right out. If you hold your mouth right, you'll hit it the first time!
