Joe,
Finally was able to track Don Baker down and talk with him.
Seems about two years ago, John DeGregory convinced Don to restore an "1111022" distributor for a project John was working on. In all of Don's research he happened upon a gentleman who used to work for Delco-Remy in the distributor accessories (and still works but is now Delphi). Anywho, Don and John spoke with this gentleman, and he showed them a blueprint dated June 1962, that showed "exploded" views of the "1111022" and the "D310" from numerous angles. He would not allow them to make a copy because of all the lawsuits, etc. that have occurred in the last couple of years.
Don has continued to restore "1111022" and has restored around 115 in the last 2 years, and all of them with "D310 caps", with the words "DELCO-REMY" and "PATENT PENDING"
