Bob, This is what I believe to be correct - however, someone with more knowledge may correct me. The various parts in the front end and the frame were all painted with a low gloss, black paint at their point of manufacture. Since the paint products used may not have been the same, there may be variations in the finish on various chassis parts. However, a completed chassis was painted completely, though haphazardly, with a coat of frame black that would render all the painted chassis parts with the same finish. I hope that helps. Steve
Bob,
Do a little research in the TIM & JG before painting. For C2's the control arms are gloss black and the frame is semi-gloss. Not sure why, just the way it was.
I'm sure that a C1 expert will come to your aid and give you the correct answer.
the tim&jg just says they were dipped so i assume that it was dipped as the frame it also states the inner upper and lower shafts were not painted along with the spindles spindle supports bushings spindle arms the springs are gloss black the tie rod ends and shafts are also unpainted
if anyone has anything else to add or coment on i would appreciate it
thanks
bob
