This 54 rookie is trying to figure out what to do about a badly sagging left door. I know all about 56-62's and replacement pins and bushings. The slop is definitely in the 54 hinges. They appear to be aluminum, and I'm hesitant to start with a big hammer and then ask questions later. I've not seen pin and bushing kits for the 53-55 cars. How do I rectify this? I know many of you guys have experience with these--help me out?
Thanks in advance!!!
Mike Ernst
On other's I removed them and took them to my local machine shop and had the pins pressed out , then the hinge drilled adding a bushing then re-press the pin in again. Din't cost but one hour labor.
