    65 conv. rear compartment light

I lost 6 pts. on judging due to not having a light in the rear compartment of my 65 roadster. The judges weren't even sure about it, what it looks like or where it goes, just that it's supposed to be there. I have not been able to find anyone who knows of this missing light. Any help is appreciated.

all roadsters had the lights and they are located on the rear wall(partition between storage area and the gas tank). they are in the center and upper portion of the rear wall. Look for evidence of holes to mount the light.good luck, mike

      Mike,
Thanx, do you know anyone who carries the part, all the suppliers I talked to knew nothing about it.

        Ric,

        The bulb p/n142453
        The bracket p/n 3822646
        The socket p/n 4234956

These are the same as the two front footwell courtesy lamps. A vendor might sell these lamps.

There are 2 clips that hold the wiring harness to the body rear upper reinforcement panel.

This is all explained in your AIM in UPC 12, Sheet B2 & B3 and Sheet C5

          Ric-----

I've got good news and bad news for you on the rear compartment lamp. The bad news first: the lamp assembly and all of the component parts, including the lens, are long-since GM discontinued.

Now the good news: this lamp assembly is reproduced and it's reproduced by Trim Parts. They're probably the finest reproduction parts manufacturer out there, so whenever a part that you need is reproduced by them, you are, indeed, in luck. I would expect that most of the vendors like Dr. Rebuild and Paragon carry this part.
