C2 window rattle?

Any hints on reducing or eliminating the very loose fit of the windows when the top is down and the windows are rolled down. I have a beautiful frame-off restored L79 67' but it annoys me when I close the doors and the windows rattle like hell and look like they could fly out if I hit a big bump! Is this inherent to the C2 or is there somthing I can do about it!! Thanks guys!!

sounds like you need to remove window glass and its sash , seperate the two and renew the filler (aka liner). while you have it apart, renew the liner on the run assembly .I too hate a door that sounds like a bucket of bolts. good luck, mike

i put new window guides im my 66 and it helped, ecklers and mid america have them, i think a better option is to put your golf clubs in the front seat next to you, i do that then i can blame all the rattles and clanks on my clubs and i don't feel so bad about the noise the car makes, 40 year old cars get rickity

Mike, I replaced all the weatherstripping, the liners, and cleaned up the lock mechanisms in my 64 convertible last winter. It is amazing how solid the doors sound when you close them now. In fact, the car seems to ride quieter now that you don't hear all the rattles from the doors. You'll be surprised how much fun it is to close the doors!
