C3 Water Leak at door seal

I am about to install the interior into my '76. I have been checking to be sure there are no water leaks. I found one spot where water is coming by the weather strip at the top corner of the door above the top hinge. The weather strip is new and the door is adjusted to match the fender and have a uniform door gap.

I placed a a 12" long piece of 3/4" household foam weatherstriping on the door jamb so it would provide more rubber against the weatherstrip -- No Leak!

It seems like if the weatherstrip was taller it would seal just fine. Any suggestions on how I might pad or adjust the weatherstripping to get a better seal???

P.S. Can anyone tell me if the T-Top weatherstrip is adjustable where it meets the side window. I have read that some cars are and some are not.

If I am understanding the description of you leak, assuming that the door properly fits the opening, you should be able to adjust the door glass to fit snugly against the w/s and stop your leaks. It is possible to "shim" the weatherstrip lightly with w/s foam, but can result in leaks in another area.

Sorry for the confusion. The leak is through the door gasket in the area above the hinge.

I also want to better adjust the window on the other side and that's why I asked about the T-Top adjustment.

      Any help would be appreciated.

There are two adjustment points on the tops. Of course one is the latch bolt. The other are the pins that hold the top in the halo bar. They have shims. Removing shims will lower the inside of the top. The top should be flush with the halo bar. Get the top to fit the halo and windshield frame, then adjust the glass to fit the top. (Assuming that you have the door to fit the body).

You may have to shim the w/s on the door to get it to seal. A small amount of shimming can be done without being very visible if you take your time.
