    '67 FIREWALL GROMMETS

Should the firewall grommets, one for the wiring & oil pressure line, as well as the one for the tach & speedometer cables have slits in them in order to insert the wiring, line and cables?

The original grommets that I removed from my 65 coupe had slits in them.

You bet! Without the slits the grommets would have had to be formed around the cables, wires, etc. or the ends of the cables/wires would have had to be installed after insertion of the cables through the grommet. Believe me, they didn't get involved with things like that at the factory; slits in the grommets were much easier and didn't compromise one iota of functionality.
