    CRANE ROLLER ROCKERS

People have told me that they "think" you can use these rockers if you put a double thick gasket on your value cover. Has anyone put these under stock 300 cu in 300hp or 350hp covers Thank you

    Re: CRANE ROLLER ROCKERS

I'm running 870 block w/ 461 heads (originally 1.94 now 2.02). The cam is by Comp Cams .495 lift in and .502 out, a hydraulic roller. The rocker's are roller tip and I have no problem running the 7 fin valve covers.

      Roller tip rockers; which ones?

      Richard,

Which Crane roller tip rockers are you talking about? Is it the 11806 or 11807?

            Merrill -

I don't know of any "full roller" rocker arms that will fit under SB valve covers, due to the height of the poly-locks. The CC Magnum "roller-tip" rockers WILL fit under stock covers, as they use the stock-type pivot balls and nuts.

Harlan Sharpe roller rockers fit under small block

valve covers if they do not have drippers. I have them on my 60 and my 70 350/350.

Full roller rockers; I've been told they won't fit

                  Merrill,

I've heard the same story that John Hinckley says, namely that the roller tip rockers will fit under the stock aluminum valve covers, but the full roller rockers like the Crane Energizers, 11746, will not; I presume becasue of the tall adjustment stud.

                    Re: CRANE ROLLER ROCKERS

Merrill you can purchase from your Chevrolet dealer part #24502540 which will allow you to use full roller rockers of your choice and retain your original valve covers. This a flange/spacer that is used to mount flange mounted valve covers on centerbolt heads and also can be used to raise the valve cover when installing full roller rockers. Roller tipped only do not require any change of what is on your car.
