I have one headlight door on the outside edge( short side) that has too much curve in it and does not match the body very well. I can feel a slight bend in it maybe it got miss handled or droped. Has anyone tryed to lightly hammer on thease parts or do they just break. I just need to flatten out the curve about 3/16". Lyle

Re: C-3 Headlight Doors
Lyle do not hammer on these doors they are made of what looks like pot metal and break very easy even if tweaked at the least little amount it happened to me the light was stuck in the up postion and i left it like that in the garage and was going to look at it the next day and my son had some friends in the garage showing off the car and someone pushed on the door because they saw it sticking up and snap in the outside corner and it was a early 1968 which takes a different size door than late it was very hard to get one.So don't hammer or anything like that you might have to skim coat it with duroglass and sand to the level you need. Re: C-3 Headlight Doors
Lyle, don't take a hammer to it. It will break. Get a metal file or some 80 grit sandpaper with a block or die grinder and shape it. Takes a long time with the file and/or paper, but you are less likely to goober things up. A die grinder will shape it quickly, but you are more likely to take off too much metal. It is easier to take off than replace
