C2 1965 Power brake master cylinder

I took the power brake master cylinder off my 65 for rebuilding. When I did I noticed that it did not have the correct casting number nor did it say Delco. It looks just like the Delco PB master cylinder with the two plastic caps and it has 3/16 lines. I have not been able to find any information on this part although I did read in the Corvette Restoration Guide about a PB master cylinder that came on the Z06 package. The Z06 cylinder was made by Kelsey Hayes but there is little other information. Anyone have a clue? Thanks

I checked the picture and that is not it. It has a single cap not the duel caps that mine has. I did forget the part number - XD82943 1" bore.

        Eric------

As far as I know (or, knew), the 1965-66 style dual master cylinders were not produced by aftermarket manufacturing sources. However, if yours has no Delco-Moraine embossments, no 5467084 casting number, and the casting number that you describe, then, apparently, these things were manufactured by other sources. That surprises me since this style master cylinder had only one application----65-66 Corvettes with power brakes. A total of less than 10,000 of these were produced which wouldn't seem like enough of a market for the aftermarket manufacturers like Wagner, Raybestos, EIS, etc. to get involved with manufacturing master cylinder castings. But, apparently, they did. I've never seen one.

Eric can you post a picture of yours?

If you want I can email you some photos of an original one.

I was told 2 years ago that there was a fellow in the midwest who was re-poping these for folks aparently he had a machine shop and was able to make them.I never seen one in person nor do I know if it was true.

Any one else here this rummor.I was told to use caution purchasing an ebay one because thats where the repops were selling for high dollars

I'll try to post a couple of pictures tonight but I have trouble with that at times. As far as the current repo, I've heard of them but it seems that anyone who goes to that kind trouble would put the correct casting number instead of his own.
