Sparg Plug Wire Replacement - When to Do It?

How do you know when spark plug wires should be replaced? Should resistance be measured with an ohmeter? If so, what value should trigger a replacement?

I have a stock 1964 Corvette 327/300 with wires ordered from Corvette Central...

    Yes an ohm meter

Pehraps someone can answer w/ more specifics given that specific CC wire but if they are solid core wires they should be at or close to zero I believe. W/ 'resistor' wires I want to say as much as 40K or even 50K or so?

I suppose any time the wires have put on many years and or miles or you specifically suspect the wires of a problem like cross firing or something you could check them.

Something else that is quite fun to do is turn on the engine at night int he dark and look under the hood - sometimes you can see a CHristmas light show if the wires are of low quality and leaking.

I want to say type of igniton (like TI or aftermarket electronic) may have an impact or wire life as opposed to points - but I'll defer to someone else...
