One odd thing about the originals...
My Dad told me, more than once, that the original tires on this car had a little black between the white and the wheel. He never mesured the whitewall, of course, so I have to get the "best guess". Obviously, the narrow black band is not available nowadays, anyway.- Top

Re: C1 Whitewall question...
Dave--
I do not have my Noland Adams book with me right now but I seem to recall him stating the width of the whitewalls. I remember because my car is late august and the white wall width he specified was not the width of the tires I had on my car. (Which I have not corrected ) I cannot recall him stating the make.

Re: C1 Whitewall question...
tire makers- U.S. Royal, Firestone, B.F.Goodrich
Whitewall width 2-11/16 inches, this out of Nolands book. He does state however that there were whitewall width variations between manufacturers. Also staes that molds became worn and a rebuilt mold could vary from original. This I know for a fact from building tires at Goodyear.

Re: C1 Whitewall question...
I'm not sure how wide the WWs were.
I don't see why the side walls couldn't be cut as to allow a space of black between the rim and WWs before they add the WWs.
Try these guys www.dbtires.com 1-888-922-1642 they will put WWs on almost any brand tire you'd like.
