    '67 BB HEADS/ROCKER ARMS STUDS&GUIDEPLATES

The rebuilder gave me back the heads off my '67 big block with the rocker arm studs & guideplates uninstalled. Do I use any sealer, locktite or other product on the studs when I install them?

Rob - I like to use blue loctite when installing....I use brakeclean first on the threads in both the heads and studs to insure a clean surface to bond...Craig

Yes, you do need sealer on these rocker studs. Some of the rocker stud holes go through to the water jacket. Treat them as if they all do. Use sealer on all of the rocker studs and you won't go wrong. My recommendation: Locktite Pipe Thread Sealer with Teflon also sold under GM #12346004. The rocker stud threads and the rocker stud tappings in the heads MUST BE 100% FREE OF OIL for the sealer to work.
