    Fuel injection 1967

Did they make a fuel injected 427 engine in 1967?

    Re: Fuel injection 1967

To my knowledge, the last FI was in '65.

Not that you could buy from a dealer. Last F.I. that I know of was 1965.

          RATS Only, No Mice Allowed.

I don't think these were on the street ... much. The caption on the plaque at the base says. “Experimental Chevrolet Engine Overhead Can Fuel Injection by Zora Arkus-Duntov.” I tink it’s a Big Block, buy hey I’m not expert.

Valve cover config resembles mark2 or mark 3 big block. mike

Me thinks it was based on the "Mystery Engine" version of the Z-11

Interesting! Sometimes I wonder if Zora would have enjoyed working for Lotus or Cosworth back in the day in F1 or teaming up w/ Granatelli or something at Indy... just kidding of course! thanks for the mystery pix.

                    I believe it's a SOHC 327.

It's on the cover of Hot Rod magazine, December, 1967 along with three other experimental engines.

One-off experimental single overhead cam engine (same valvetrain configuration as the Ferrari V-12's of the era); it's probably still in the GM 12 Mile Road Warehouse across from the Tech Center. Saw it there 20 years ago.

John, I saw it there about 7 years ago--so it's probably still there.

There was a Moser SOHC SB I think too

...nothing to do w/ factory stuff but I seem to recall a 'Moser' OHC (probably single) SB in the very early 70s. I think it used a big rubber cogged external belt drive.

                              You're right about the Moser.

I think it was a twin cam but I wouldn't bet on it.
