    C2 Dash Pad Installation

The passenger side dash pad on my 66 is a tight fit onto the fiberglass dash wishbone due to the two bolt studs that must drop into the wishbone drilled holes. While trying to install the pad, I bumped on the front top of the pad with my palm and inadvertently cracked the 38 year old vinyl in the region where I was bumping. it. The pad is now undergoing repair at the vinyl shop.

I plan to use a thin wooden stick and tap against the studs to drive the pad back and the studs into the holes whenever I re-install the pad. Any other ideas from experience here?

    Dave:

When I removed my original pads, I found that the production line had elongated one of the holes to allow the stud to drop down. The pad could then be slid back into final position. I don't see how it could have been installed without this little trick.

    Regards, Mike
