    TQ: Oil Cap

OK all this talk about oil fill caps got me to look ay mine. I thought it was original to the car, and still do, but it doesn't have the small stamp. What you guys think?

The third edition judging manual calls for Base engine: " The oil fill cap is either painted semi-gloss black or chromated with a dark greenish-black finish. The letter "S" for the Stant Mfg. co. is stamped into the center rivit."

The oil cap I was talking about was a 427 cap not a small block.

Kevin, I bought an NOS cap about 20+ years ago for my base-engined '67 and it is identical to yours. Come to think of it, there were 2 or 3 left in stock, I "shoulda bought 'em" for about $2.00 each! The description in the manual is correct.

Yes, as others have noted, only the twist-on valve cover oil caps had the circular Stant logo. The oil fill tube caps never had it, as far as I know, anyway.
