Did the tank stickers on a 1967 have any of the VIN penciled on it from the factory?? My 1969 did have the last three digits of the VIN on it circled, if I remember correctly. How much stock should be put in a tank sticker as I see someone sell's them, even age's them as well?? Also was a 400 hp upgrade from a 390 hp motor noted on the tank sticker in pencil or otherwise?? Thanks Larry

Re: Tank sticker
my 67 tank sticker makes no mention of the cars vin # as the car didn't have a vin 3 when the order sheet was constructed. My 400 hp ac vet has the Convert 390 to 400 hp TYPED on the sheet. the 3 digit penciled and circled #'s were not the last three #s of the vin. mike- Top

Re: Tank sticker
The penciled #'s on the stickers were the job number. I do know know of a mid year that the job conincided with last digits of the VIN, although I am sure there are some. '68's and '69's this does occur, although it is not 100%. I do not know how they got in or out of sequence with the job #'sDick Whittington- Top

Re: Tank build sheet
I was told a couple of years ago by a NCRS judge that the 3
penciled in numbers on the tank sticker are suppose to be within 50 numbers of the last 3 nubers of the vin. I further checked with the guys at Bloomington and they wouldn't really say yes or no. My tank sticker is 3 numbers off the vin and a few that I have seen are within the 50 numbers. Does anyone really know the answer?- Top

Re: Tank build sheet
Jon, I have never seen any more than one build sheet in any '67. Placing the build sheet, more properly called the "manifest", in with off-line subassemblies like the dash was for scheduling purposes. Each off-line operation required a copy of the manifest so the job could be done properly acccording to the color codes, options, etc. on that particular vehicle.I believe this practice started in the late 60's or 70's at GMAD plants.

Re: Tank build sheet
Don, thank you for your input. I assumed that there was only one, but mine is valuble, but not completely readable. Oh-well, at least the 435 horse and the leather can be read. I guess the other options will have to be taken at face value.
Thank You
