    '57 Distributor Cap

    '57 2x4 engine: What would be the correct cap for this engine? I see in the Corvette Cental catalog there are two caps listed for a '57, one 3" high, the other 3 11/16 high. Please advise on what I need and where to find.

      D-305 Delco Remy cap is the proper unit. described in '57 Barts book (P/N 1917247) shown as 4" dia, 3" height.

          Is the D-305 cap available? If so, where can I purchase one? If not, is there a replacement?

              Stop by your nearest Delco parts store, they have them.

                  I would be cautious of the current Delco service caps and other Delco ignition parts as well. The quality is not nearly what it used to be.
