      only solid lifter 283's in 57 utilized cross over pipe.mike

          Bob,
          According to the Tech & Judging Guide ," only 1957 FI models were specified as useing an exhaust crossover pipe".

              You interested in originality or performance?

              An extensive chassis dyno test in Hot Rod in the late 80's showed as much as 15 hp gain by installing a crosstube in the exhaust. Wish I still had this issue. As I recall, they used a 350 Nova and kept changing the exhaust configuration. One thing that was popular then was putting turndowns on the mufflers instead of tailpipes. Seems this reduced power.
