Re: Brake calipers
re brake calipers joe lucia i don't have any experience using these calipers but i did extensively research this subject some time ago the calipers that you mention which are offerred by both vette brakes and florida precision caliper use the zero tolerance or willard kendig manufactured pistons these pistons use an o ring seal instead of the chevron seal used in the original design they also delete the piston return springs used in the original design of course i got many divergent opinions regarding this new system some pro some con however the question that i kept asking myself was this o ring seal brake pistons were well known at the time that gm designed the first corvette disc brake system in fact bendix used this design in their piston caliper systems if this design was so great why did gm choose to go with the more expensive chevron seal system nevertheless i am very interested in hearing the experiences of others who have actually tried the zero tolerance systemIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
