I'm putting my 1959 Corvette through Performance Verification in Orlando in January. The antenna on the car is a good reproduction, but the bottom segment doesn't go down and I need to have it reworked for PV.
I understand there is a guy in New England that reworks antennas, but I don't know his name, address or phone number. Can anyone provide me with his contact information? Thanks!
Perry,
Paul Mazut can rework your antenna so that it will pass with flying colors. You can find his name in the discussion board users and drop him a line. Paul does fine work is is a real nice guy!
Originally the antennae could go all the way down? That would sure make it nicer for putting a car cover on! Mines a repro also and I may also have to give Paul a call.
A 'correct' antenna will still stick up 8 1/2" above the plastic ferrule when it's fully collapsed. The bottom section (largest diameter) will slide up only 2" - from 6 1/4" to 8 1/4" above the plastic ferrule. Paul did mine and it works great.
