    67/ alternator?

I had a friend give me a pick up load of what he said were BB parts/misc.
One that I am not sure of is an alternator he said it might come in handy for emerg. It is stamped:
    Delco 11028060 63A

9B 13 Was he correct for 427/425 ? Thanks Steve.

      Steve-----

You've got one too many digits in the part number and I don't know which is the "extra" one. It's impossible to tell you anything about a part number if the part number is not stated correctly. Mis-spelled words are ok; we can figure them out. Mis-stated part numbers is not ok; we can't necessarily figure them out.

          Steve-----

This alternator originally resided on a 1979 Oldsmobile. Or, I should say that the drive end case (the case half with "numbers" on it) originally resided on a 1979 Oldsmobile. In its original configuration it was, indeed, a 63 amp unit of the SI series, internal regulator. This type of alternator was never originally used on any 1968 or older GM car. If it's still configured as an SI series (which can be identified by a split ring case end with "striations" around the rear portion), then it's not usable for any pre-69 GM car as-is.

However, the drive end case half (i.e. the front half) is interchangeable between SI series, internal regulator alternators and DN series, external regulator alternators. Commercial rebuilders mix-and-match alternator components with "reckless abandon". So, if this alternator has been through a commercial rebuilder's operation (which is likely) the original numbers on the case usually mean nothing, at all. They are simply a vestige of what once was.

Joe, patience please but: 1/3 of the way back from the front (pulley side) is a seperation with 3 "rings" and on the top of the rings there is a 1/4 " gap.
On the rear portion there are 2 -2" "vents" at the top. Appx.rear center there are 3 round "stems" coming out.( Laughing yet or confussed)one is appx 1 1/2", one is appx.1" and the smaller is appx.3/4" with threads inside. This probably won't help you but I thought I'd give it one last shot. Thanks again Steve.
