72 BB with M21

My understanding is that if you ordered a 1972 BB with the 4 speed close ratio
(M21) option, air conditioning was not available. Is this correct?

How do you tell M20, M21 ?

Thanks for the clarification - I suspected it wasn't but wasn't sure so watched this thread for a response. Just curious - in judging - how do you tell a difference between a std or wide ratio M20 vs close ratio M21?

From stamping on side of case, A = M20, B = M21, by the way that item is not judged in flight judging.

And probably will never be as long as they have fat old men like me judging

Dick: That's good to know! I applied for Bowtie, but was turned down. My chassis and engine bay areas were, unfortunately too detailed by a former owner's employee, although the areas look terrific, they don't present enough significance of factory correctness in appearance.
