    C2 rearends

    1) In accepted rear end nomenclature, is the C2 rear end properly called a "GM Corvette 63-79 rear end" ?

    2) Is the C2 Posi-Trac rear end a Salisbury design rear end?

    3) Are adjustable carrier shims applicable to C2 rear ends? (I read an article about adjustable shims made by Reider Racing. I also have heard reference to adjustable shims called "super shims".)

    Steve----

    1) The term "GM Corvette 1963-79 rear end" can be used and most folks will know what you're talking about. The term that GM uses for the part that you are referring to is "carrier assembly". "Rear end" or "differential assembly" are also descriptive terms;

    2) The "GM Corvette 1963-79 rear end" is a Salisbury design;

    3) Shims are used at several places in the "GM Corvette 1963-79 rear end". The shims EFFECT the adjustment; the shims, themselves, are not adjustable.
