    C1, '58 rear springs

Once again I come to the well of knowledge. With the original rear springs installed, I seem to have about 3 inches of driveshaft yoke showing with weight on the rearend (though sans bumpers and interior). I would expect an 1 1/2 inches showing. A rough measurment indicates that the present installation has the longer portion of the spring to the front, measured from the centerline of the axle. I found a post in the archives that stated a '57 spring had a 1 1/2 inch offset (clamping bolt) to the rear, thus the front of the spring longer. Is there a front and rear to the main leaf springs and what is correct.

It will only fit in one direction. The end with the large bushing hole goes to the front.

Thanks, it's been a year since I built up the rear end. I knew it took different bushings but I couldn't remember if the difference was external or ID.
