C3 front license plate light?

Did any of the C3's have a front license plate light? Was there a bracket mounted to the front center bumper brace? Thank you, Terry

I know of no C3 that ever was originally equipped with a front license plate light. Such a light is not required by DOT or the laws of any state that I know of. Consequently, I don't even see why one would ever have been installed.

I wonder if Canada had them required? I remember finding a front center bumber brace with a little L-bracket spot welded just between the two bolt holes that attach to the center of the front bumper. It had the twisted up remains of a light bulb housing attached there. It was very rusted, but that is what it appeared to be. Mistery light? Happy Holiday's, Terry

Nope - not required in Canada or any of the European (ECE) countries either; maybe it was for a strobe to flash in sync with the underbody neon tubes

They fall right in line with the factory installed curbfeelers, 68-72 RH rearview mirrors, factory installed luggage racks on 68-72's, and foxtails.
