    2001 Corvette rear-end ratio options

I have a 2001 Corvette C5 convertable automatic and would like to know if anyone knows what the rear-end ratios were from the manufacturer for this model. Also would anyone know where I could obtain a list of OEM options for this car? Thanx!!

The standard rear ratio for your car is 2.73:1. The only optional ratio, known as RPO G92, is 3.15:1. You can tell if your car has this by finding the Service Parts Information" label on your car and looking to see if "G92" or "G90" is shown in the listing. If one or the other are not there, then your car has the standard ratio. This will be shown on the list as "GU2" and that coding will confirm that your car has the standard ratio.

A good reference source for you would be the "Corvette Black Book" by Mike Antonick. It's available from the NCRS Bookstore and other vendors.

Or a factory 2001 brochure, either at swap meets or ebay

all of your options for the car should be listed on a white decal - check under the arm rest and/or the glove box

The "Service Parts Identification Label" to which you refer does contain information relative to options installed on the car. However, all are coded. The information contained in the "Black Book" can be used to decode SOME of the information contained on the label. However, many codes found on the label cannot be decoded using the "Black Book".

If you have a good Corvette dealer close by, they can decode the SPIL codes for you.

The National Corvette Museum can provide a copy of your car's window sticker and build sheet. Check it out at www.corvettemuseum.com
