Can the spring clip and rivet for the clutch fork be purchased at a "normal" auto parts store, as opposed to ordering from Long Island, Paragon, etc?

1) I've never seen this part for sale in an auto parts store;
2) You can buy one from GM under GM #12337938;
3) I wouldn't even consider trying to replace this spring. If it needs replacing, I'd replace the whole fork unit. It's still available from GM under the original part number of GM #3887177.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

If your spring clip is broken you will have to buy a new clutch fork. Make sure you keep the old fork to compare with the new one.
I have a 60 vette and ordered a new clutch fork from GM and it was not the same size. It turns out that on the 60 the rise was longer then on other models.
A good machine shop can rivet your spring clip in place for about $10 or $20.- Top

Re: '67 CLUTCH FORK SPRING CLIP & RIVET
I agree GM's price was much better that anywhere else I found.
The only problem I had was that GM listed 58-62 as the same part and that wasn't true. The arm is a little longer (about 1/2 inch) on the rise. Sorry about confessing this situation.- Top
