The rear spring on my 67, f41, only has 6 leafs. Is this a replacement spring? The 4 bolts that attatch it to the diff. dont appear long enough to accomodate a 7th leaf. I would like to make the spring correct for judging. Can ayone recommend a source for a correct spring that wont alter the ride height? Thanks , Tom

Re: 67 rear spring
F-41 rear spring had 7 leaves, std susp. rear spring had 9. On an orig spring , all leaf ends(except the main leaf) flare on each end. Don't know that anyone is repro-ing the flared leaves. Try junk yard(ted becquet @ 814 766 3623) Believe early , if not all c-3 rear springs could serve as source for parts to make up a c-2 rear spring. good luck, mike- Top

Re: 67 rear spring
As Mike says, there were 7 leaves. In fact, there was a "plate" of 5/16" steel on service replacement F41 springs after around 1975. The end treatment of the leaf scallops is different on the original vs service replacement F41, at lease the more recent examples. It sounds as if someone replaced your bolts with shorter ones if you don't think there will be enough thread engagement..Craig- Top

Re: 67 rear spring
Mike and Tom-----
1964-72 PRODUCTION F-40/F-41 rear springs were the same. ALL are 7 leaf, 2-1/4" wide and of single stage design (all 7 leaves are curved). There were not a whole lot of these springs used on 64-72 Corvettes (and VERY few between 70-72). Leaves from the 9 leaf springs (the 7 curved ones) cannot be interchanged with the 7 leaf springs. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 67 rear spring
Thanks to all for the responses. The leafs on my spring do flare up and appear to be spaced correctly . I assume I'm missing the top leaf. Would it make sense to assume that someone removed the top leaf in an attempt to lower the ride height?- Top
