Re: Todd H 26112 A direct Response For You
Roy,
I'm sorry a response to a .3 level individual was necessary and required so much of your time. Your last paragraph says it all! I really appreciated the time you devoted to this! Regards,- Top

Re: Well Stated
A lot of members do not realize the time and effort the Roy Sinor's, Vinnie Peters, Dennis Clarks, Mike McCagh's and many many others have contributed to this hobby. Thousand's of hours are volunteered to write and revise manuals. Countless hours on the phone "brainstorming" as how to make the process better for everyone, especially the participant at an event. And very little, if any, of these expenses are reimbursed. As a former member of the National Board of Directors, I know how ungreatful a few people are. I know how it is to be named in a suit. I know about the long phone calls complaining about how this should be changed to accomodate am individual or small group. The decisions made are for the masses, not the few. For the whole membership, not just one chapter or region.
The comments that have been made are very tasteless and juvenile and uncalled for. We are supposed to be adults and therefore should act like adults, not spoiled children or overpaid athletes who could care less what is thought of them. This goes back to an old saying that I have heard since I was a child, "A fools name and a fools face is often seen in public places" (Yes, even that far back there were pictures and magazines )
The comments on this board should be constructive, not destructive. I think that some lite hearted puns liven up the board.

Roy, Well said. Also, I think its important that members know as much as possible about a person who posts on the "Discussion Board". Knowing a poster's background says lots about statements they make and their responses to others.Dick Capello

It'll be a cold day...
in **** when I stamp the missing letter on my replacement engine block. Plain luck would have me driving the original engine. Hard work went into replacing it with the pad being the only thing incorrect. Stamping the block to represent a replacement as "original" is LYING, pure and simple. I dunno how much more plain I can say it.
There is a lengthy post right now about a 67 SB that magically became a 435hpBB between owners. I gotta think the pad in that one has been stamped. That is FRAUD. Last I looked, that was a felony when such large amounts of cash are involved. Even if no money were involved, just points, you gotta wonder how these folks can look in the mirror.- Top

Thank you Roy, I don't as a rule respond to anything that isn't a technical question but I had to thank you for your reply on this one. Like Jeff said lets keep this board technical and help each other out.- Top

Re: Todd H 26112 A direct Response For You
Slightly off topic, but I would like to mention that I found the survey statistics interesting. I'm only in year two of NCRS membership and I found it to be good background info.
Regarding magnification, good grief, reading glasses have been around darn near since dirt.

"Keeper of the Standard"
Roy,
I like that. It fits very well, and puts a different spin on your job. I suspect many view your job's responsibilities in a different manner.
Oh, and some of us thirty-somethings drive original cars with original paint, original points and original engines 535 miles each way to meets. We're not all into BC/CC and restamps!

Re: Todd H 26112 A direct Response For You
Roy Ive been a NCRS member for only a year, and by and large I have been extremely impressed with the professionalism , expertise and enthusiasm of the majority of board participants. Its a shame that you had to go to such great lengths to preserve the constructive environment here. Is it worth having the board members do some of the heavy work? For example if there were a "three (or some other number) strikes and you're out" rule, and the members registered the "strikes" it might discourage inappropriate comments and also make your life a little easier.- Top
