Do the headlight pivot bearings (original brass&steel) require any lubrication?

Rob,
Only if you don't want them to rust and seize up after a few months! OK, enough of the smart ass in me. Yes, you must use some lube on them or they will seize to the shaft and be hard to turn and probably burn out that expensive headlight motor. I have used axle lube for years successfully. Use the synthetic such as Valvoline and it will probably last longer than the old parafin based lube. I would suggest revisiting these pivots every 10 years just to clean them out and relube.

Dave,
Never even thought about the plastic replacements as the originals are still available thru Long Island Corvette Supply.
Don't use plastic ones but if I did there would be some grease on them also.
