    That scab finally healed.

Gentlemen, and the few Ladies present:

This evening I received the following message from the NCRS home office and I quote:

    Subj: Archive Post
Date: 12/2/2003 6:38:21 PM Eastern Standard Time
    From: j.waggoner@insightbb.com
    To: DocRebuild@aol.com
    Sent from the Internet (Details)

    Geoffrey,

I deleted you message about the archive post again tonight. I also deleted the offending post from the archives. You have been around long enough to know that like everything in life there is a ying and a yang. Everyone on the board behaves in a very adult manner for some period of time. Then things get a little free wheeling. When they reach a point that I start getting e-mail from users and Directors about offending posts I delete them and admonish everyone to clean it up. I do not, have not and don't intend on going through 130,000 previous posts to delete any that may not fit what should always be an acceptable standard. I would really like to have the luxury of the time to delete all none technical posts in the archives.

    John Waggoner
    NCRS Web Administrator

    And my response:

    Mr. Waggoner:

I appreciate your concern and I do understand your limitations.

If I locate an offensive personal or false attack, I should be afforded the opportunity to address or refute such material. A one sided view is parenthetically unfair, as is denying equal access.

When folk start writing about my company bouncing checks, or not delivering merchandise or misinforming about the condition or quality of the items or not shipping promptly or refunding promptly, I’ll not raise a hair if we are at fault.

However, it is repugnant to read the personally attacks that the NCRS has archived by folk who just couldn’t have it their way. They did not get stiffed, cheated, scammed or otherwise ripped off.

    Geoffrey Coenen

PS I’m tired. Been busy today. Had to get and then unload 500 lbs. of cracked corn for the cold hungry homeless folk. My job is like yours: It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. The corn lasts about 2 weeks. The sobs at the feed store cut their 10% bulk discount and said they had a new corn supplier. These sacks are different too. Anyone know a better vendor?

Clem, you should "take him out" alright, but not with an electric blanket!

Clem; coon in crockpot better than beef on barbeque, pig in pit, gopher on grill and so on. shoot the critter and have the little misses drag out the crockpot. mike

              mrs clem won out

i moved the trap up next to the house so he would stay warm. she is kind to dumb animals,i guess that why she married me. we just saw another one so i guess there may be a family of coons. we have them at our place in the PA mountains and they love mashmellows we found out. that is what i used for trap bait.

                    Re: hey dr doolittle

Clem - Been there, done that, I was quite proud last spring when I caught the big ol coon that had taken to living under an addition to my house, where my mother in law had been sleeping and complaining of scratching noises all night long. (Turned out she wasn't as nuts as I thought). Relocated that big ol coon (it was not pleased with me) and thought I had solved everything. Wrong! Twas a big ol MOMMY coon, and I learned the next night that the scratching noises were not going to stop, lotsa little ones with no mommy scrathin around under there now. Called the nature center, etc, and learned it is actually against the law to relocate a raccoon (a friend of mine had done so, I said!) as they are a "rabies-vectored animal" etc. But really, the biggest reason not to do so was already known to me, the babies. Not that I am as sappy as Mrs. Jack or Mrs. Clem, my fear was they would die under there and stink up the joint (ok, once I saw them I did feel a little kindness for them). Had to locate a "raccoon rescue" person to raise em proper, then had to lure out the little ones and hand them over to her - took a few nights of diligent calling (think of making a "brrr" noise really loud). This is the short version of the story . . .

"I learned it's against the law to relocate a racoon"...Now for the height of lunacy, I was in a Jury pool in FEDERAL court where some guy was suing a peace office for violating his civil rights when they got into a "scuffle" as the guy was dropping off his racoon.

                        Sometimes I wonder....
