    Holley Rebuild kit

Would someone be so kind as to steer me to the best place to buy a rebuild kit for my 70 LT-1 carb., Holley list number 4555. Need the entire kit including the acelerator pump and gasket. Thanks in advance.

the correct holley kit is 37-1539 and any speed shop should be able to order it for you. summit should also have it. they are not cheap. close to $90

Clem is right Summit will have it, or they can get it for you. Some Holley parts are not in stock and they get back ordered, so be patient. Mine are back ordered for 3 weeks. Good Luck Brian

          Clem:

I think that is the same generic Holley $90 "master" kit that replaced all the specific kits such as the former LT-1/LS-6 only Holley kit #37-1184. Those master kits must contain many extra parts that fit other models as the specific kit was only $40 when we had them.

that is the only kit they list for the 4555 carb. holley did this to all the older carbs because of the limited need for specific kits for these carbs. that is why i buy parts in bulk and match up the parts with the orignal when i do a rebuild. i took the coon out to the woods and turned him loose but his brother was here last nite but he did not go into the trap.

              new Holley Rebuild kit info

doing some checking it looks like a kit 37-1544 for less than $30 will work with your 4555 carb you will need a extra 125-85 power valve for $10 so that is half the price of a kit 37-1539. do not hold me to this but looking at the specs of a 4555 carb i think this will work.

                Clem,

Thanks for taking the time to look up those numbers. I decided to buy the 37-1539 kit as I have a couple of 4500 series Holleys and most likely can use the spare parts. When I called the order in the tech advisor was surprised it existed. I don't think they get to many calls on these 4500 series carbs. Thanks again.

                  Clem,
Will either of those kits have the teflon gaskets?

most of the holley kits now come with the red or blue non stick gaskets.if you want the orignal tan gaskets they are available thru some other aftermarket parts supplier.

Thanks Clem, I want the new technology. The car's judging days are over.
