    Thanks Steve

I end all my posts in this manner to make a point that after all the bickering and dissagreements are done, we are all part of the same comunity of Corvette lovers and I wish everyone well (even those I disagree with)! I picked this habbit from Jim Frakes, whom I dont believe I have ever heard say a cross word to anyone. I wish I could say that I have never risen to the bait and responded in a manner that I wish I had not, but we know that this is not true. I really try hard, but sometimes my temper gets the best of me.

    Regards, John McGraw

Looks like some beautiful cars, and I'm partial to 66's

Re: Change the Nature of NCRS?

        Everett,
Very insiteful discussion. Speaking for "one" newcomer, I joined the NCRS to learn. While the project I decided to embark on was specific for my son and grandson's involvement, I joined NCRS to learn the difference between classes and to understand how some of the more experinced members got to where they are today. If my son should decide to change the car, at some point in his life, then he will know where to turn (NCRS). To introduce changes to the criteria will compromise the standard.
I understand why some new members have questioned the existing judging criteria. If they are anything like me, they want to be recognized for their work of taking something that was better suited for scrap and turning into something of pride and satisfaction. However, in my case to admit that the engine is specific for a 1957 and that the pieces I find to rebuild this car are sometimes far from original (like a 5-spring leaf spring), I too would like someday to park next to a "Top Flight". If nothing more than to say "I did". In my case, time is against me. I cannot afford to wait for the right or correct piece. But, once the car is together, my heirs will have every opportunity to change what should be changed -if they should so decide.
For those who may be interested, our project is coming along nicely. Feel free to look. -While a few may want to change the judging criteria to fit their own desires, mine is simple. I'll just keep inviting all of you to visit our web site. Thanks for reading...
        Sincerely,
        Tom Spurgeon
